Oppenheimer Bond Funds

Many brokers sold both the Oppenheimer Core Bond Funds and the Oppenheimer Champion Income Funds to their clients and represented these funds as conservative, long-term investments for part of their retirement plan portfolio.  However, these funds were invested in high risk derivatives and credit default swaps. These funds lost a significant amount of value in 2008 and 2009 due to these risky investment strategies.  Brokerage firms that sold these investments have a duty of due diligence to their clients and must investigate these products before recommending them to their clients.
